False eyelashes are a popular way of enhancing your eyes and giving you a more dramatic look. You can choose from different styles, shapes and lengths.
Why use them?
You may have heard of fake eyelashes, but why would you want to use them? The answer is simple: to make your eyes look bigger, more attractive and dramatic.
If you want to create the illusion that your eyelashes are longer than they really are, then using false eyelashes will help! It's true that wearing false hair can make people think that you have more lashes than they actually do & if used correctly they can also give the illusion of length. This can be especially useful when it comes down to creating a more dramatic effect with your overall appearance.
False eyelashes come in many shapes, sizes and thicknesses.
What are false eyelashes made of?
False eyelashes are made of synthetic materials, not human hair. The most common materials are nylon and polyester. Some brands will use real hair fibers in their lashes, but this is not the norm.
Depending on your preference and the style you're going for. False eyelashes can be made of synthetic hair, mink fur (which is what most people use), silk, or even cotton thread.
Some people think that false eyelashes are easier to apply than long-length eyelashes, but this isn't true; it's just easier to achieve a good look with them!
How to apply false eyelashes.
First, check the fit by holding the lash strip against your eyelid (along your natural lash line) and trim down using eyebrow scissors if necessary.
Next, apply lash glue to the faux lashes along the cotton strip and wait for the glue to dry (to a tacky like finish) before applying them to your natural lashes. Take care to place the strip as close as possible to your natural lash line. Hold still until the strip is secure and sits comfortably.
- Don't skip brushing in the morning or night.
- Use a good mascara if you have sensitive eyes, but don't use waterproof mascaras on your upper lid because they can cause irritation there too (this includes most drugstore brands).
- If you're wearing false eyelashes all day long, wash them off at night before going to sleep—they'll irritate your real lashes if they're left on too long!
