Lip liners first achieved their mass appeal in the late 1920's - made famous by Hollywood Starlets using them to accentuate their lips both on and off the silver screen.
The effect that women have sought to achieve have changed with emerging trends. Initially the lip liner was used solely on the cupids bow and centre of the lower lip to create a ‘doll shaped mouth’, this evolved to the more voluptuous seductive, full coverage looks of today.
